World of Warcraft
With classicWorld of Warcraftonly a few month aside , a lot of information about the old plot that was lose or forgotten is appear again . This was the Book of Genesis of Azeroth , and programmers and writers were still ironing out the wrick . A few item appear that were fun to use and look coolheaded but extend almost no advance to your character . Remember when Shaman power train would set down in an Alliance raid or Paladin gear for Horde ? Spirit stats for warlock ? All those merriment storage will come flood back with this lean of clean but useless stuff in classicWorld of Warcraft .
Defias Mask
This humble detail was of grey quality , offered no buffs or superfluous stats , could only be used by one class , gave no benefit , and did literally nothing for your lineament beyond putting a reddened slice of cloth on their face … and every Rogue had to have one . The Defias Mask was a drib from a little chemical group of hostile pirates and thieves that lived in the northern part of Westfall . You could get it as early on as point 8 as long as you killed enough of them to get a lucky drop , but you had to be tier 15 to wear it . Not only that , it was Bind on Pickup , so you could n’t buy them in the auction bridge family . That was why the Mask was such a coveted and recognisable clothing point . The only way you could get it was by , well , getting it !
To sum up yet another level to this , sometimes the journey to just obtain the sphere was an accomplishment itself . Alliance players might have to jaunt for a bit , but at least it was through well-disposed territory . The good Horde participant could do was hike northerly along the coast of Stranglethorn Vale and pilfer through sea mile of hostile lands and gamey - level areas . At level 15 . A Horde actor with a Defias Mask no doubt had to do several stiff runs just to get to Westfall , so Horde Rogues get even more deference for this way cool but totally useless badge of honor .
Firestone
A honk form that carries a sword does seem passably cool , but if they ca n’t wear anything but material , then you have to avoid melee damage , and it intercept produce any sensory faculty . warlock are spellcasters , but they can and do carry swords , one of the more adorable quirks of the class . An detail of lily-white quality that a Warlock could get fairly early in the biz , at level 28 , and it look great at first . Young Warlocks loved this thing , and why not ? You could make it yourself , and look , it has a fire damage buff on it ! Yeah , that ’s majuscule , but you only have one fire spell at this level , and most of that buff is only for melee harm . A cockamamie fault or a bad joke ? probably some of both .
Luffa
This started out as a fairly deadening , barely useful green trinket that was easy to get from a individual seeking in Searing Gorge . It hit a Bleed impression , which was only useful if you were press varlet or Warriors . It was extremely assay after by PVPers , but not really utile to anyone else . That changed after the combust Crusade elaboration when Karazhan opened up again . One of the bosses guarding those haunted hallways was a Rogue that deal a brutal Garotte . At the time , the Luffa could remove bleed effect of any floor , and the item suddenly became extremely sought after by dungeon runners and raiders . The Luffa was then nerfed so it only work on effects humble than degree 60 , and a modern version , the Feathered Luffa , appeared in theLegionexpansion .
Hook of the Master Angler
You ’ve been trying to gain the Stranglethorn Fishing Contest for months . lastly , you ’re the first mortal on your waiter to arrive at the wharf in Booty Bay with 40 tastyfish ! You collect your prize to the joyful cheerfulness of guildmates and bystanders , and in the hullabaloo , you barely find this point does about nothing despite look at so much work to obtain .
The infamous sportfishing derby is notoriously difficult to win , so any indicant that you did gets a bunch of overconfident recognition . The " Salty " claim is another feature single to winners , and it ’s almost as useful . All this blue trinket does is allow you to breathe underwater and swim faster . For a lower level character , that might be straight , but high level character reference typically win the competition , and by that time you ’ve got a setting or some form of swimming or speed buff anyway . To make it more limited , you ca n’t use it out of fighting , and any harm destroys the effect . If you ’re Forsaken , then you have an underwater breathing buff anyway , and that have it even more senseless . You have to admit , it is slap-up to be a fish .
Dal’Rend’s Tribal Guardian
Not all of these tiro ’s mistake were about trinkets and dress . Many artillery in the game ended up with similar quirks . This one - handed brand looks awing , and it was part of a high - level set that included an equally intimidating chief helping hand blade , Dal’Ren ’s Sacred Charge . Anyone who could acquit a sword wanted this abrasive - looking matter . It had a scraggy edge and repelling curve , and it was a high-pitched - level blue . Good matter too , otherwise nobody would bother equip it . Why ? Because it ’s an impromptu weapon with tanking stats .
We ’re not sure how that happened , but it ’s easy to see the resultant . Warriors and Rogues ripped each other aside over who got this passing cool - looking but tragically flawed weapon . It ’s no longer usable since the folks at Blizzard would be embarrassed to put such an token in the game today , but it ’s presently highly sought after for the transmogrification potential .
