Disney ’s exalt hitFrozencaptured the zeitgeist in 2013 , and the brand has since go on with a scant film ( Frozen Fever ) , a mini - feature ( Olaf ’s Frozen Adventure ) , and a Broadway adaption . It ’s also had a proper sequel in the works since 2015 , with returning directors Chris Buck and Jennifer Lee plotting the next chapter in Anna , Elsa , and Kristoff ’s tarradiddle . Much like the puzzle , theFrozen IItrailer does a nice business of hyping the film without unveil much of anything about its story . Both the trailer and freshly - released synopsis signal the subsequence will explorethe truth about Elsa ’s power and where they arrive from , even as she and the others set out on a"dangerous but singular journey"to protect Arendelle from out-of-door forces . The footage also shows Elsa merging with Grand Pabbie aka . the Troll King ( Ciarán Hinds ) , who tells her she must go north across the"enchanted"lands and into the unknown quantity to see the truth about what ’s bump . From there , the drone cod Elsa , Anna , Kristoff , Sven , and Olaf encountering all sorts of dangers , admit some form of magical fire in the woods and what seems to be a giant ( rock music ? Ice ? ) monster , as well as a mythical water spirit call Nokk .
Altogether , theFrozen IImarketing continues to do a good problem of keeping a hat on the movie ’s secrets , while at the same time establishing its darker and more ripe tone . It appears the intention here is for theFrozenfranchise to grow and evolve as its core consultation does , and that ’s encouraging to see . Last year ’s Disney animated sequel , Ralph Breaks the cyberspace , succeeded in taking that approach , and there ’s reason to mean it ’ll work just as well forFrozen II . One wonders if the sequel will even take the leaping andgive Elsa a female love interest , as has been rumored and many fan have been visit for . After all , the Mouse House has yet to reveal whoEvan Rachel Woodis voicing in the picture show …
