But as is so often the causa with objects of universal significance , Rex was thinking far too small when calling it a weapon . The preview gives a tantalizing introduction to the intelligence inside of the Hypercube , apparently created in the earliest moments of the universe ( as either a carrier , or conduit for both desolation and promise ) . The preview suggests that after eon expend simply observing the universe , and possibly even its influence upon it , the Hypercube choose to create some from of life on its own . We ca n’t explain what that spirit may be , or how it factors into Rex Luthor and his army ’s plans , but it ’s a gimmick that the villain did n’t envision . Which is likely all the reward the Super Sons will need to end their narrative on a winning tone .
