You may or may not have heard about this by now , but a hearsay spread that Warner Brothers was ferment on aHarry Potterprequel serial publication for their streaming service . unluckily , it seems like that rumour has already beendebunked . But it still got us thinking .
According to the rumour , the production of the serial was in the very former stages - hence why nobody acknowledge much about it . They did site some argument , such as it being a prequel based on or around Hogwarts . Pretty cool , right ? peradventure all the hype and excitement will convince the higher - ups to actually go ahead with something .
There are so many characters we ’d want to see more of . And okay , there are some that we ’d be okay with not seeing more of too .
Want to See: The Mauraders
A Marauders series is probably top on everyHarry Potterfan ’s lean . And with practiced reason ! Knowing that the series will be a prequel likely base in Hogwarts is merely give us all the redundant hope we could have ever wished for .
Okay , so we know that we ’re cheating by listing the Marauders as one here . But it ’s safe to say that fans would rather see this team together , than separate , right ?
Don’t Want to See: Grindelwald
No offensive , Grindelwald , but we ’re hoping to not see you in the prequel series . For one thing , Grindelwald did n’t even go to Hogwarts . For another , let ’s just keep him to the movies for now , voice good ?
While Grindelwald ’s character has a spate of potential for an interesting series , most of the dramatic degree about him would do easily with a bigger budget . Though we ’re not against the series being set during the altitude of his clock time – seeing the subaltern effect of what he ’s doing could be interesting .
Want to See: The Founders of Hogwarts
Godric Gryffindor . Helga Hufflepuff . Salazar Slytherin . Rowena Ravenclaw . All of these characters are I that fans would love to see more of .
For twelvemonth buff have been begging to see a Founders of Hogwarts movie . Or series . Or book of account . We ’re not particular ! We have so many doubtfulness about how the Founders themselves sustain together , how they work up Hogwarts , and why they made some of the decisions they did .
Add in the fact that we ’re all curious about the characters themselves , and you ’ve got a lot of potential for a serial .
Don’t Want to See: Snape
Snape is probably one of the most argued about characters in the Harry Potter world . People either love him , or hate him . But disregardless of how you experience about his character , here ’s hoping he is n’t the principal focus for a prequel series . We ’re fine with the theme of him make appearances in a Mauraders series or something like that . But no more than that , please
Snape ’s good plot arc all happen towards the ending of his life . show him in any other form would be an unfairness , and honestly would take away from the controversial character .
Want to See: Mad Eye Moody
Ever wondered what Mad Eye Moody was like before he became a paranoid Auror ? Well , we have ! Was he a paranoid child ? Or did that riding habit get incinerate into him through yr of hunting dark superstar ?
Seeing a untested Moody pilot Hogwarts would be interesting . And it would earmark for the serial to lend in tons of raw characters along with him . So they ’d theoretically have more freedom to work with .
Don’t Want to See: Voldemort
Sure , they could go back and show us a young Voldemort at Hogwarts . But we ’ve pretty much seen all of the important parts about his character . The flashbacks during the Harry Potter series ( specifically with Tom Riddle ’s Diary ) gave us the highlights , if nothing else . We can fill in the blanks from there .
As with Snape , we ’d be okay with seeing him on the computer peripheral . But we really do n’t want to see a series focused on him .
Want to See: McGonagall
Minerva McGonagall is another character we would n’t mind go through more of . Ideally within her own timeline ( no offense to grand Beasts : Crimes of Grindelwald ) . We make out the laborious fact of McGonagall ’s life , but that does n’t mean we have a good theme of what type of individual she was during that time .
McGonagall had a surprisingly difficult and interesting spirit . It ’s one of the reason her character is so active . And we would love to see her in activity . We ’d also settle for see a slightly younger version of her seek to herd the Mauraders around .
Don’t Want to See: Dumbledore
allow ’s just get out youthful Dumbledore to the Fantastic Beasts franchise for now , okay ? Though honestly , we ’d be okay with seeing him as a petty quality . After all , if the series is going to be set only slightly before theHarry Potterseries – Dumbledore will be present . We just do n’t want him to be the main part .
Dumbledore is a great fiber , but he ’s also tough to get right . And realistically they ’d have to cast a whole raw thespian for him ( unless Jude Law or Michael Gambon would be unforced to make an appearance ) , which would be routine four for those keep track .
Want to See: Hogwarts Ghosts
Another rooter favorite when it derive to requests : the ghost of Hogwarts ! And male child , there are great deal of ghosts to take from here . Admittedly , if the serial is conk to be completely based in Hogwarts , it may be difficult to present the life and untimely deaths for these characters ( since many did not actually decease on Hogwarts dry land ) . But there ’s still peck of potency here .
There are several things that have never been explained about these spiritual additions to Hogwarts . Such as how and why they came to be there . While two of the mansion ghosts have obvious connections , the others do n’t .
Don’t Want to See: Newt Scamander
Once again , have ’s just leave the Fantastic Beasts characters to their series . At least for now . We ’d be hunky-dory with seeing Newt Scamander as a cameo ( especially if Eddie Redmayne portrayed him ) . But he ’s get enough going on in good order now , no pauperism to do a rich dive on his earlier day . Though we would like to get word more about his projection someday .
