The Lion King

Jon Favreau has explain how he oversee to work onSpider - adult male : Far From Home , The Lion King , andThe Mandalorianat the same time . The actor - filmmaker has played Happy Hogan in the Marvel Cinematic Universe for the preceding eleven years , going back to the originalIron Manin 2008 . However , over that same period of meter , he also directedIron Man 1 & 2 , in increase to the one - off funny book adaptationCowboys & AliensandThe Jungle Bookretelling . He even made clip to   both star in and helm the 2014 indie comedyChef , in - between his big budget studio apartment efforts .

Most recently , Favreau has been   dividing his time between reprising Happy inFar From HomeandAvengers : Endgame , call the shot onThe Lion Kingremake , and serving as a author - manufacturer on the first live - actionStar WarsTV serial , The Mandalorian . Screen Rant speak to Favreau about his meddling schedule during our visit to theFar From Homeset this past year .   Here ’s what he   had to say about working as an worker , showrunner , and conductor on three separate ventures simultaneously :

So , um , I ’m working on Lion King now . Actually , while I ’m out , I go over to MPC after work and look at the stuff there . Because they ’re doing the digital effects here . So we ’re doing some of the material … and then we ’re prepping the Star Wars series back in L.A. So actually , with all the time zones , it actually works out well . Although , when you have to be on the stage set , it ’s catchy . So one of the producer who ’s work on both the other projects is with me , so I kind of get corralled around . But the gracious part about acting as that I get to just focus on that for when I ’m on the set . This is a really fun one , too , and I wish to act with [ director Jon Watts ] again . He ’s a funny cat .

Based on his input , timing and convenience of location were the principal factors that allowed Favreau to successful separate his aid between the MCU , Lion King , and theStar Warsfranchise over the last class . No doubt , he was also help by his willingness to delegate certain major task to other multitude . OnThe Mandalorian , for good example , Favreau convey in storytellers like Deborah Chow ( Jessica Jones ) and Taika Waititi ( Thor : Ragnarok ) to manoeuver the series , rather than trying to do too much by himself . It seems he was likewise collaborative onThe Lion King , which only makes sense . The ocular effects arduous project has been in mail - production for much of the retiring twelve month , appropriate Favreau to pace back a morsel and let the moving-picture show ’s gifted VFX crowd and animators bring their trick .

Jon Favreau The Lion King and Mandalorian

It ’s a good matter Favreau ’s gotten used to juggling so many balls at once , seeing as his agenda is shaping up to be equally mob for the foreseeable future . There ’s a right   chanceThe Mandalorianwill get a second season on Disney+ , presumably with Favreau back at the helm serve as showrunner . Meanwhile ,   last we heard , Disney has been developingThe Jungle Book 2with the aim of bring Favreau back as director afterThe Lion King . And on top of all that , the actor - filmmaker might not be done playing Happy Hogan afterSpider - Man : Far From Homeeither , depending on where the MCU goes in Phase 4 . So who knows , Favreau may once again   find himself   splitting his care between three mega - properties by this time next year .
