Mjolnir returns to theMarvel Cinematic UniverseinAvengers : Endgame , and it is just the latest object lesson of how underpowered it is to its comic counterpart . Marvel Studios has done a very good line of work of bringing characters and floor from Marvel Comics to the big blind over the last eleven years , and one of the most powerful single to be featured is the Asgardian next queen Thor , played by Chris Hemsworth .
Just like in the comics , Thor ’s malleus Mjolnirhas play a vital office in his first several appearances . He ’s used the omnipotent hammer to advance infinite conflict and defeat major foeman like Ultron and Malekith . Throughout these adventures , the MCU has demo just how knock-down that Mjolnir can be . Thor used it to destroy the Bifrost Bridge and command staggering amounts of lightning to agitate the Chitauri at the Battle of New York , just to name a few examples .

And despite all of these display of magnate , the MCU ’s version of Mjolnir is still vastly underpowered when it follow to how it has been used in the comics . It is true that Mjolnir is not as brawny in the MCU as it is in Marvel Comics , but that could be said about quite a few different characters and artifacts . Plus , it is jolly hard to equate the two , as the MCU has only sport Mjolnir in six movies but the comic translation has been part of hundreds , if not 1000 , of comic over the last 50 year . The comic interpretation of the power hammer may have been able to show its strength by take on down Galactus , but the MCU ’s Mjolnir never got the chanceafter Hela destroyed it .
While Mjolnir did make a return inAvengers : Endgamein epic fashion , it is not have a bun in the oven to be part of the MCU go forrard . This would mean that we ’ve seen all we will of it on the big screen , so we ’ll never know if there were more powers to it that Thor never managed to con . He does n’t seem to heartbroken about not having his hammer anymore either , as he prefer Stormbreaker now ( andcould be the key to him having his might ) and will continue to employ it as his weapon of choice moving forward . But , if Mjolnir does happen to return in some form in future celluloid , then maybe the true magnate of it will be unleashed .
