While it remains to be seenhow Marvel will reboot the X - Men in movies , the comic Quran have turned to one of the good name in the business to handle the task . author Jonathan Hickman is personally overseeingthe creation of Marvel ’s new age of X - Men , beginning with the parallel release of two different serial publication : House of X , andPowers of X. Individually they will be looking back into the history of Marvel ’s mutants , and forward to the hereafter . Together , they will prepare fans for the next ten - Men era . And evidently , Marvel is already softening the blow of the role Professor X may play in its beginning .
The reveal comes in the form of a teaser image for the event , although it ’s unreadable whether the graphics by Dale Keown is a cover , a full - varlet gap , or a piece of marketing cloth ( the prescribed source atMarvelisn’t offering clarification yet , either ) . But the image itself leaves footling to confuse , depicting a Lincoln - esque gemstone monument of Charles Xavier , seat , with Cerebro still atop his head . With an epitaph inscribed in the wall behind him to call back his home in mutant history . Take a look :

The sight itself is both logical and shocking : while Charles Xavier was always truss to be retrieve as one of the most important figures to Mutant Rights in Marvel history – provided they are n’t wipe out in some dystopic future hellscape – fans did n’t expect to see him killed off before the current event had likewise go past into the history Book . After all , the rise of a new , relaunched 10 - Men catalogue of comic has a spot for Professor X implicitly .
