Thor vs. Ice Giants
Our first glimpse at the Asgardian prince ’s powers was n’t quite what audiences were expecting ( where was the lightning ? ) but the initial battle between Thor , Loki , Lady Sif , and The Warriors Three against the Ice Giants ofJotunheimwas an impressive offset to Thor ’s career .
The conflict introduced us to all of the warrior ’s abilities , include Loki ’s , and proved that Thor really was worthy , at least when it come to wield that hammer ( but again , where was the lightning ? ) . The cherry on top of this shot was Anthony Hopkins riding in as Odin and spanking everybody ’s cigarette like the immature children they were being . Not desirable !
Iron Man, War Machine vs. Whiplash, Hammer Drones
regrettably , it was one of the only good thing about this movie ( besides the introduction of Black Widow ) . The first fight between Iron Man and Whiplash undoubtedly has a cooler ' causa - up ' sequence ( the first of many to get for Tony Stark ) and the brawl fit between Tony and Rhodey has a much more comedic element to it , but this epical concluding battle was a rosy high - point in a movie that really did n’t have a whole mass else go for it .
Not only that , but this was the firstMCUmovie to usher in the character of Peter Parker as the little nestling in the Iron Man mask . Spider - Man was help the Avengers out long before he get his powers .
Captain America vs. Red Skull
I ’ve seen the future , Captain !
