After years of unsure and delayed production , the fifth and final induction oftheRambofranchiseis just around the corner . Once again , Sylvester Stallone helped compose and starred in it , alongside writer Matthew Cirulnick and manager Adrian Grunberg .

Rambo Took Sarah’s Advice
At the end ofRambo(2008 ) , we see a uninfected and calm Rambo walking down a rural road in the US . The photographic camera pans to a weathered mailbox reading ' R. Rambo ' and it ’s become unmortgaged : Rambo has last home . He followed missionary Sarah Miller ’s advice to take back to Arizona and see his sire . It was , maybe , time for a rest .
In the opening of the prevue forLast Blood , the weathered postbox returns , and we see Rambo sit on a porch in clean-living boots . There are unresolved horizons , not another building for miles . He ’s home in Arizona , at least at the beginning of this movie .
Sarah Isn’t Around Though
speak of Sarah Miller , she must have either remained a missioner in Myanmar or render to Colorado with her fiancé Michael Burnett . Sarah Miller is one of onlythreewomen in the entireRamboseries that we see interact with Rambo , so she ’s immediately significant . InRambo , she manages to restore his faith in man and gives him the strength to hope again .
But she ’s not present or mentioned in this trailer . Sarah might have changed Rambo ’s lifetime , but it does n’t seem like the two have stay in spot . Anyone hoping to see Sarah further Rambo to fall in love again after Co Bao ’s dying is going to be disappointed on that front .
Rambo’s Been Training Horses
So what has Rambo been doing while finalize back into life in the US ? Before all the military action start , we only see Rambo doing two things : Sitting on a porch in very sporty boot and riding an untamed Equus caballus that ’s trying to throw him off . Is ranch and training sawhorse his family ’s livelihood ? Taming something wild does sound like a nice retirement job aftera life of kicking butts , but the music playing behind it is n’t uplifting — Rambo might not be felicitous here .
We ’ve seen Rambo steal vehicles of all sort , but willRambo Vshow him riding horses into a fight ? That would be an exciting twist for this franchise .
But He’s Not Adjusting to Civilian Life Well
Since 18 , Rambo has n’t gotten much of a probability to be a civilian , and it does n’t seem to accord with him . Thirty seconds into the trailer , he ’s seen wash his nerve and star into the mirror , looking dispirited or nervous .
And perchance it ’s because he keeps getting pulled into commission or maybe it ’s because he does n’t cognise a different means , but Rambo has get quite a stockpile of hired gun and ammunition in the trailer . have some makes sentiency — would Rambo really be Rambo if he gave up all his guns ? But the tremendous cache he ’s been building seems like he ’s preparing for some confrontation , whether the threat is real or not .
Someone He Loves Has Died

But in the trailer , Rambo is seen walking by a tree with a few graves underneath it , clearly still in Arizona . One of the graves has invigorated flowers at it , and the dirt is freshly turned . Clearly , someone John Rambo loves has die . A member ofhis adopted family , perhaps ? His father ? We do n’t know who yet , or how that death is go to play into this motion-picture show .
Rambo’s Not Fighting in Eastern Asia
The first movie in theRambofranchise , First Blood , was place in Washington state , in a piddling town called Hope that Rambo is ostracise from . Since then , all the movies have taken place in East Asia . After a caboodle of back and forth , it search like Stallone and the rest of the production squad decided to coiffe the film in North America .
The fight seems to start in Arizona : In the trailer , he ’s determine preparing in what looks like his family ’s barn . He sharpens a knife and a pitchfork there , before swinging around some farm machinery to make it more deadly . Inside the house , he arrange up dumbbell traps to vote out aggressor . But if the dugout tunnels we see Rambo fly the coop through are anything to go by , he ’ll be spoil the border into Mexico more than once .
He’s Fighting Mexican Drug Cartels
We see him journey to what looks like Mexico City and be hem in by a hundred bozo with guns . Combined with the secret tunnels he runs through , we know thatRambo is fighting at least one Mexican drug trust . His menage on the border in Arizona would be an easy place for him to stage a war with them , after all .
In an excellent good continuation of the far-famed line from the first movie , “ They drew first lineage , ” this trailer proclaims : “ He will draw last . ” Rambo is get a line saying he wants retaliation — but what for ? Is this still about Washington , somehow ? Or did the cartel cause the death of someone he have a go at it ?
He Might Be Truly Working Alone This Time
While Rambo never becomes a pacifist , he does n’t really go seek these fights either . Since the first movie , Rambo has always been reluctant to engage . He has only agreed to help oneself someone else fight a battle when it ’s decipherable there are no other option . But we do n’t see anyone ask for his assistant in this trailer . Colonel Sam Trautman is drained , so the military plausibly is n’t calling him in . Rambo says , “ I want retaliation … I want them to know that destruction is coming . ” It sounds like what draw Rambo into this conflict is personal , and he might just be struggle altogether alone .
He’s Confronting ‘His Past’
TheIMDbstoryline account the plot of this movie as , “ Rambo must confront his past tense and unearth his unpitying combat skills to exact revenge in a final missionary work . ” Realistically , he ’s probably never lost much of his combat skills in the first property . Everything Is Coming Full Circle
InFirst Blood , we see Rambo trying to sink back into life in the US after the Vietnam War . He , like many veterans , was treated terribly by US civilians , which exacerbated his posttraumatic stress disorder . After the events ofFirst BloodandFirst Blood : Part Two , Rambo finalise abroad , keep off plate .
