George Lucas change the earth when he releasedStar Warsback in 1977 . All three film in the original trilogy are still highly praised by fans to this day , but the same ca n’t be pronounce for the prequel trilogy . Lucas wrote and directed all three of the prequels; The Phantom Menace , Attack of the Clones , andRevenge of the Sith .

There were a lot of things wrong with the prequels including poor playacting , writing , and CGI , so the films really just do n’t live up to today . There are even a lot of mo in the film that are just downright cringy . Here is Star Wars : The 10 Cringiest here and now From The Prequel Trilogy .

Yoda Force Pushes Palpatine

When Senator Palpatine turn out to be the Emperor from the original trilogy , it really should n’t have come as much of a surprise . Palpatine ’s truthful identity is fully let out inRevenge of the Sithand Yoda is one of the Jedi that confront him . Yoda gift more of a challenge than the other Jedi and is even able-bodied to force labour Palpatine over his desk .

It would have seemed like a middling normal scene , only Palpatine awkwardly flips over , which flip his cloak over his head . Seeing the Emperor fall in this ill-chosen way was cringy for foresighted - time fan of the serial , who are used to fancy the Emperor as a dark and serious Sith Lord .

Anakin & Sand

Fans did not specially take to   the child version of Anakin Skywalker and thing did n’t get much good inAttack of the Clones . Hayden Christensen was recruited to play the Old reading of Skywalker ; unluckily , fans generalled despised Christensen ’s acting . While Christensen ’s performance was n’t quite there , the dialog for the film   hardly helped matters .

It ’s coarse , and rasping , and irritating , and it gets everywhere .

Anakin ’s line about sand inAttack of the Clonesis probably one of the worst moments in theStar Warssaga . At least , Christensen has a dear sensory faculty of humorabout it .

Din Djarin and Ahsoka-1

Qui-Gon Explains Midi-Chlorians

The originalStar Warsintroduced many construct like the Jedi , lightsabers , and the Force . The Force was originally a mystical construct but George Lucas messed that up when he wroteThe Phantom Menace . Lucas introduced Midi - Chlorians in the first prequel film , which were microscopic life forms with a connectedness to the Force .

Basically , the more Midi - Chlorians someone had , the more powerful they were with the Force . When Qui - Gon Jinn examine Anakin ’s Midi - Chlorian count , it was through the cap . uncalled-for to say , many mass were left shaking their capitulum at the idea since nobody really asked for an account of the Force .

“NOOOO!!!”

While all three of the prequel films have their mediocre parcel of issues , Star Wars : Episode III- Revenge of the Sithis often regarded as the best of the three . In the film , fan finally get to see Anakin transform into Darth Vader . The scene was well done , for the most part . The one exclusion happens after Palpatine told Anakin that he basically killed Padmé .

NOOOO ! ! !

The line was overly dramatic and just came across as cheesy . During the Blu - ray release of theStar Warssaga , Lucas decided it would be a practiced musical theme to blue-pencil in another“NOOOO!!!”inReturn of the Jedi , which fans also did n’t really revalue .

Diego Luna as Cassian Andor in Andor season 2

Anakin Hitting On Padmé

Besides setting Anakin ’s turn to the dark-skinned side , his love story with Padmé was a independent focus of the films . Unfortunately , due to the prequel trilogy ’s poor writing and performing , the family relationship seems fantastically squeeze ( no pun intend ) . It is always awkward when Anakin   tries to stumble on Padmé , but one of the cringiest minute came inRevenge of the Sith .

Padmé was brushing her hair on the balcony when Anakin tells her she is beautiful . She answer by saying,“It ’s only because I ’m so in love”,to which Anakin replies,“No , it ’s because I ’m so in love with you . “This is just one of many case of the poor dialogue in the picture show , but it acquire even more awkward when Padmé of a sudden gets very serious and asks,“So love has blind you ? ”

The Jedi Slaughter

During the flood tide of the pic , Palpatine execute Order 66 , which turns all of the Clone troopers against the Jedi . While the scenes of the Clones have out the Jedi   are some of the more cinematic shots of the cinema , it did n’t really make sense how the Jedi were taken out so easily . Not only that , but Palpatine himself is able to easily vote out four Jedi Masters .

While Mace Windu nearly defeats him ;   Kit Fisto , Agen Kolar , and Saesee Tiin were kill almost straightaway . The Emperor defeat Jedi is a bit more naturalistic than clone being able-bodied to slaughter the Jedi , but both instances probably had fan rock their head .

Eopie Passes Gas

One of the most hated grapheme inStar Warshistory was usher in inStar war : Episode I- The Phantom Menace . People tend to detest on Jar Jar Binks mainly because he was used for comedic relief and to appeal to children . A lot of Jar Jar Binks scenes make people want to rip their hair out , but one panorama that is particularly cringe - worthy involves an eopie .

During the pod subspecies scene , the eopie farts and gross Jar Jar out . The scene was used to get a laughter out of audiences and maybe it did with children , but many the great unwashed just cringe at   the scene ’s stupidity .

Padme Puts Anakin In His Place

DuringAttack of the Clones , Padmé and Anakin travel to Naboo and speak with the Naboo council about the clone army . After their group meeting is over , as   Padmé is talking to Jamillia , the Governor of Naboo necessitate Anakin his opinion of the situation and address him as Master Jedi . Before Anakin has time to answer ,   Padmé corrects the Governor and explains that Anakin is just a Padawan learner .

The two keep cut each other off before   Padmé puts Anakin in his berth by saying , " I think it would be wise if you took vantage of my knowledge in this instance . " Anakin being bested by Padmé is clumsy enough , but then the photographic camera cuts to Jamilla ’s reaction , which make Anakin ’s situation seem that much more embarrassing .

Racial Stereotypes In The Phantom Menace

While Jar Jar Binks is often called the most hatedStar Warscharacter out there , mass exact thatThe Phantom Menaceis full of racial stereotype . People often knock the character reference for being an example of " blackface"since   Jar Jar talks and acts like old clowning used to impersonate African Americans . Anybody who is familiar with chronicle is also aware of the connotations when Jar Jar separate Qui - Gon Jin that he is now his humble retainer .

Also , many believe that Watto and   Neimoidians like Nute Gunray are also examples of racial stereotypes . People of Jewish heritage are often negatively depicted as having large noses and being obsessed with money , which are two things that Watto is known for . As for Nute Gunray and the other   Neimoidians , people have target out that the characters accents speech sound like theatrical role that would appear in old comedies that vomit up Caucasian actors in Asian role .

Anakin Makes Padmé Feel Uncomfortable

With as awkward as Anakin and Padmé ’s human relationship was , it did n’t seem natural when   they ended up fall in love . Not only is there a big age difference between the role , but Padmé seemed authentically fawn out by Anakin inAttack of the Clones . In one shot , Anakin and Padmé are packing for their trip-up to Naboo , Anakin is talking about his unfair life .

The two set about to talk about   Anakin ’s newfound maturity   before he begin to stare at Padmé . After Padmé severalize him not to seem at her , Anakin asks " Why not ? " to which Padmé bluntly enjoin , " It do me feel uncomfortable . " The scene then resolve with Anakin creepily stare at Padmé as she walks aside .
