Who knew that Steve and Dustin of all hoi polloi would become the breakout star ofStranger Things ? Back in time of year one , Dustin was " the kid without tooth , " and Steve was Nancy ’s popular swain who harassed Jonathan and atomizer - paint foul matter on the local theater marquee . But now , two seasons afterwards , they are theNetflixshow ’s most popular characters thanks to their surprising deepness and amazing interpersonal chemistry .

Seasons two and three were take with hilarious moments between the two , most of which often came down to friendly ribbing .   These are the ten times that Steve and Dustin were full BFF goals .

Girl Advice

By the final stage of season two , Steve was render Dustin some … rather questionable advice about girls . While walk in the woods , Steve tells him to act like he does n’t give care about someone , even when he does .

Later , when Steve is knock off Dustin off at the dance , he once again reminds him to move like he does n’t handle and tells him that he ’s " learning . " It may be silly advice , but it ’s adorable that he ’s even sample in the first position . However , it intelligibly did n’t run , check as how the only dance he get was from Nancy .

Dropping Dustin Off At The Dance

While we ’re on the subject of the school saltation , permit ’s go forwards and acknowledge how adorable it is that Steve give Dustin a drive . Like a good older brother , Steve plunk up Dustin at his menage and drove him to the dance , supposedly giving him advice about missy along the way .

Before going into the dance , Steve tells Dustin that he expect swell , afford him bravery by pumping him up , and tells him ( rather rightly ) not to do that creepy " rrrrr " sound to the girls . We wish we had an older brother like that growing up !

Giving Dustin Hair Advice

While bond in the woods , Steve reveals the truth about his whisker to Dustin . According to Steve , the secret to double-dyed hair is shampooing and conditioning , title while the hair is still dampish , and give ' er four puff of Farrah Fawcett ’s hairspray .

Dustin patently means a lot to Steve , because Steve threatens him with end if he let the enigma out . Dustin later uses Steve ’s steer on the nighttime of the terpsichore to … somewhat questionable results . Still , it was certainly deserving a try , and it was nice of Steve to reveal his innermost secrets !

Protecting The Kids

One of the most exciting chronological sequence of season two is when Steve ’s gang is trap in the junkyard by a pack of creature . Capitalizing on his maternal inherent aptitude , Steve go full Mamma Bear and proceeds to whack away at the puppet with his nail bat .

He also contract the lead throughout the excursion and hold them safe by lay away them in a jitney . It was awe-inspiring to see Steve become so caring and protective , and it was at this moment that the Mom Steve meme were hold . He truly does worry about these children !

Their Little Sword Fight

Is there anything more adorable than Steve ’s jubilation at seeing Dustin in the ice cream shop ? He comes charging out the back door with a massive grin on his expression , while Dustin bear witness outstanding superbia thatStevegot the job at the glass cream shop class .   They ’re both so joyful to see each other , and it is perfectly adorable .

But what ’s even precious is their minuscule steel fight handshake thing , which sees them clashing blade and take nerdy lightsaber sounds . What clear this whole scene even cuter is that it ’s in full view of both the customer and Robin . They ’re just so well-chosen to be in each other ’s presence again and they do n’t care who knows it .

Looking For Russians

There ’s nothing more " Steve and Dustin " than looking around the promenade through a pair of opera glasses ! While endeavor to receive creepy , hush-hush Russian operatives , Steve and Dustin pack out near some plant and peer around the shopping centre with a pair of shared field glasses .

There ’s just something so goofy and ' 80s about these two people chillin ' in the mall and citizenry watching with a brace of opera glasses , and it takes us back to the more unacquainted and playful time of our youths . Of course , it ’s not so clean-handed because they ’re trying to save America here !

Slapping Dustin With A Banana Peel

You ’re not great friends with someone until you slap them with a banana ! While attempting to decode the Russian transmission system , Steve and Dustin draw the attention of Robin , as they ’re not incisively being covert about it . Both Steve AND Dustin show agitation at Robin ’s " Russian , " only to learn that she was actually talking pig Latin .

In turn , Steve slaps Dustin with a banana peel and calls him an idiot . It ’s one of the funniest scenes of the integral time of year , and it indicate that they are now at the dot of their relationship where they can call each other idiots and slap each other with banana Robert Peel .

Sharing A Covert Conversation

At the very beginning of the season , Dustin intercepts a creepy Russian transmission and , of course , the first soul he goes to is Steve . Now is n’t that just lovely ? It prove that Dustin literally trusts Steve with his spirit , and it depict that Steve will believe quite literally anything that Dustin says .

Of course , the two part this conversation over ice ointment , which only make the whole situation that much cuter . It ’s like these two are stuck in an awkward blank space between " old married couple " and " infantile teenagers . " And we fuck it .

Steve’s Lack Of Fighting Experience

One of the most distinguishing panorama of Steve ’s reference is that he kind of suck in at fight . He ’s lose battle in both seasons — one to Jonathan Byers , and another to Billy . Naturally , Dustin totally rails on Steve for his lack of agitate experience , kindly reminding him in a moment of naive trust that he has lost not one , but two fight .

It takes a special kind of friend to reel someone back from their bit of assurance , and it takes an even special - er character to kindly remind them that they kind of sucking at fighting . It may be a huffy spotlight for Steve , but not if it come from Dustin . The two are too near for that .

“Touch My Butt, I Don’t Care!”

And now we ’ve reached peak BFF goal : touching your supporter ’s tooshie . While seek to storm Dustin through a lilliputian vent , Steve is stupidly pushing on his feet trying to get him up and through . Not own any of that silliness , Dustin tells him to push him by the rump , yelling , " Touch my butt , I do n’t give care ! "

Of of course , this just result in more trumpery , and Robin can only gaze and shake her head in disappointment at the two idiots that she has been pose with on this surreptitious mission . It ’s a hilarious aspect , and it proves that Steve and Dustin are now officially BFFs . As if that was n’t obvious already !
