He has Luke ’s pleasantness , but also Han ’s rebelliousness . The conflict between Luke and Hanexists entirely within Poe ’s character , and he ’s just one guy . The continuously likable Oscar Isaac is gross for the part , playing Poe as basically the nicest , coolest guy wire ever . Everyone would want to be Poe Dameron ’s friend .

He was , of course , the straight man , because he takes everything so in earnest . The gag belonged in aRobot Chickenepisode , not an actualStar Warsmovie – and sure as shooting not in the opening panorama .
