Not only is this a glad ending , it proves that the factor - swapping cure could ’ve theoretically function on Seth , had he cerebrate of it in time , and been willing to give the animation of another to do it . Of naturally , that would be an ethical sticking point for anyone , and if Seth had survived , one wonders if he could ’ve lived with himself once back to his lucid psyche . It ’s also unlikely Veronica would ’ve been unforced to go along with such a plan . Still , The Fly 2makes it clean that BrundleFly was n’t as much of a lost cause as he appeared .
