The Lion King ’s story similarly has a pile of uncomplimentary social overtone and political subtext ( as the Honest Trailer points out ) , and yet the new version makes small to no effort to change that . It ’s hard to imagine Disney occupy about this ( the remaking grossed over $ 1.6 billion worldwide ) , but it ’s a missed chance all the same .
