There are several hero responsible for the outcome ofAvengers : Endgame , but the real Italian sandwich is someone that no one saw coming . After the end ofAvengers : Infinity War , the Marvel Cinematic Universe was left in a position where the original six Avengers and a few friend would be all that was left to try and unwrap Thanos ' snapshot in some way of life . The original six Avengers - Iron Man , Captain America , Thor , Black Widow , Hulk , and Hawkeye - all survive and largely spearheaded their plan .
They were not alone in trying to restore the universe , though . Nebula joined the team after being the only one left on Titan with Iron Man , while Rocket and War Machine were part of the survivors on Earth . Meanwhile , Captain Marvel survived the snap and retrovert to Earth on short notification andeventually saved Iron Man and Nebula in place . The other extremity of the squad was Ant - Man , and his sentence in the Quantum Realm start - set forth the team ’s plans to go back in time and steal the Infinity Stones .

While this could make Ant - Man seem like the champion ofAvengers : Endgamein many ways , there is someone else - or rather something else - that really is . It is just that much more providential thatAvengers : Endgameended in favor of the Hero , and all thanks to this one blackleg .
