X-Men: Dark Phoenix
Dark Phoenixmay be ending the story begun inX - man : First Class , but the team this clock time looks a little unlike . The class of 1983 fromX - mankind : Apocalypseare now the core of Xavier ’s superheroes , with Cyclops ( Tye Sheridan ) , Storm ( Alexandra Shipp ) and Quicksilver ( Evan Peters ) all lead the charge ( along with the likes of Nightcrawler and soon - to - be - capital of Arizona Jean Grey ) .
Screen Rantrecently caught up with the role player to talk about how it is jumping ten year into the future tense and where they wish they could take their characters next .

This is your 2nd or third X - Men motion-picture show . How has the procedure of making these change as it ’s fit on and as your character have become part of the core team .
Tye Sheridan : All around , I intend the experience , at least from my position crop on this motion picture in comparison to that on the previous one , Apocalypse , was much more set-aside . Everybody was more engaged . And I retrieve it was a very focused movie . I consider everybody was just much more add in .
Evan Peters : Simon was at the caput of this one , so it was great working with him as a director . He ’s also the writer so I can come to him with a lot of questions and he has a batch of input and bonk the level through and through .
MT : It ’s really heavy to work with a writer - director . I mean , typically you do it on a smaller film , but I mean it ’s nice , especially a photographic film like this to have a queer visual sensation . It makes it all very unmediated .
Alexandra Shipp : Every director is different . It was fun come to the X - Men franchise with a sinister kind of look and viewpoint . It ’s way more gritty and new and I love the estimation of find out these character more broken down , not so mirthful ledger but in spades human you know . It was cool . Mutant man ? Mutmen ?
Mutmen ! One thing I like about this finical series movies is how we leap through the 10 and we get to see the 60s , 70s , eighty , and now 90 . One uncanny oddity of it obviously mean your characters are 10 years older than when we last saw them , and it ’s 20 years since Quicksilver was first inclose . Do you guys work that into your performance ? How do you factor out in that these characters have commute so much and yet you guys manifestly do n’t look …
AS : Yeah , stay out of the sun . It ’s mutant melanin . Some mutant melanin . The gentle ones are always gon na look twelve because , I think , drear is just a youthful color . It ’s true .
Oh , you guys do n’t have to do any constitution , or at least not as extended …
AS : Er , I ’m a girl . They spray me down , beloved . Just because it ’s dark-brown does n’t think it ’s not still airbrush on like that , it ’s crazy . Especially with Apocalypse , that was like a lot of hair and a lot of pieces . And I was shaving my head every day so pilus and war paint for me was like three minute .
Wow , okay . Must be down on this one ?
AS : It was less on this because I was n’t shaving my header every solar day . That was skillful .
All three of your characters have such a racy comic script story and are now so well defined in film as well . Is there something from the funny books that you would care to explore with these character reference that you have n’t you did n’t get to do in the two movies you ’ve done [ to Evan Peters ] or three .
EP : I ’d wish to speak to Dad a small bit . Tell him that I ’m his son , perhaps fight crime . I do n’t hump , I conceive that could be fun .
AS : I ’d like to see tempest have a love interest . You see the love that she has for her phratry members but it ’d be prissy for her to get some , you know ?
TS : I do n’t know if I can top that .
EP : You ’re not gon na top that .
AS : Nope .
thymine : Yeah , I do n’t know . I really like what I got to explore in that character in this film . I mean , I think lose the person you love is quite a …
EP : It is a great story .
TS : It is really sad .
One of Cyclop ’s good narrative for certain . [ to Evan Peters ] You mentioned the Magneto father material , which does n’t really get explored here . Would you say that what happens in Revelation and that " my family is what matters " is the end of that exploration for Quicksilver ?
EP : I go for it ’s not the ending of it . It did n’t really … I do n’t know , it did n’t really …
AS : Could be more .
EP : Yeah , could be more . There could be a picayune more exploration .
AS : I ’d like to see his chemical reaction .
